Paderborn: Parkrun

I’d planned on doing the Parkrun in Paderborn, but wasn’t sure if I’d be up in time after yesterday’s travel issues.  I awoke in plenty of time, and got the bus out to Padersee (which is a small lake on the river Pader (which is the shortest river in Germany apparently))

It was a quite a small Parkrun; <100 participants.  I got chatting to a group of travelling actors from the UK, who were going to be touring round schools in Germany doing plays in English.  The organisers of it are originally from the UK.  I hadn’t realised, but there (used to be?) a large British army based near Paderborn.

The run itself was very pleasant; 2.5 times round the lake, so nice and flat.  The weather was cool and dry.  I was a couple of seconds quicker than in Krakow last week.

It seemed to be an exceptionally friendly parkrun.  I stayed for breakfast at the cafe in the park after, as did a lot of the other runners.
