A rather quieter day today, as I was developing a bit of a cold yesterday, and am not feeling much better today, so having an early night to try and shift it.
I headed out on the U-Bahn to take a look at the Olympic Park. The station is also by the BMW museum. They also have an ostentatious building for their museum. I resisted the urge to go inside.
The park itself was very nice. All the buildings have draped transparent roofs. The tower was closed for rennovations, but there was a nearby (artificial) hill you could climb for good views over the park and city.
Then I headed back to the centre to see the Town Hall’s glockenspiel performance at 12. This seems to be a tourist “must do”:

I then went to see the Eisbachwelle. This is a standing wave on the river that’s popular with surfers:
Some were really good. One guy actually juggled a few stones while surfing.
Later I went for a brief wander around Oktobfest. It’s absolutely huge. The “tents” are more like huge wooden halls. There’s also a very impressive fairground.
Hoping I’ll be feeling better and have a bit more energy to see some more of Munich tomorrow; it’s a really nice city.
