We had a full day in Zadar today (I’m currently waiting at the airport for my flight back to sunny(??) Manchester.<\/p>\n

I’m still feeling a bit ill – sore throat and cold, so didn’t do that much sight seeing. To be honest, there doesn’t seem to be all that much in Zadar (a day is definitely enough), but what there is seems very nice.<\/p>\n

It also looks to be a good location for excursions to the various national parks that surround it – most of these seem to involve a boat trip though, and we decided that we’d been on a boat enough this week,<\/p>\n

There’s an ancient glass museum. You’re not supposed to take photos inside, so this is all you’re getting. There was a very extensive collection of old bottles, flasks etc (possibly over extensive). There was also a smaller, more interesting, selection of contemporary glass work, and a live glass blowing demonstration, which was quite interesting.<\/p>\n

The Roman forum remains – discovered in the 1930s, and apparently “excavated” by an allied bombing raid in WW II. Tastefully arranged in the 1960s<\/p>\n
