A rather quieter day today, as I was developing a bit of a cold yesterday, and am not feeling much better today, so having an early night to try and shift it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I headed out on the U-Bahn to take a look\u00a0 at the Olympic Park.\u00a0 The station is also by the BMW museum.\u00a0\u00a0They also have an ostentatious building for their museum. I resisted the urge to go inside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The park itself was very nice. All the buildings have draped transparent roofs. The tower was closed for rennovations, but there was a nearby (artificial) hill you could climb for good views over the park and city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then I headed back to the centre to see the Town Hall’s glockenspiel performance at 12.\u00a0 This seems to be a tourist “must do”:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I can’t upload videos, but the characters move around on a ring, while music plays:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I then went to see the Eisbachwelle.\u00a0 This is a standing wave on the river that’s popular with surfers:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some were really good.\u00a0 One guy actually juggled a few stones while surfing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Later I went for a brief wander around Oktobfest.\u00a0 It’s absolutely huge.\u00a0 The “tents” are more like huge wooden halls. There’s also a very impressive fairground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hoping I’ll be feeling better and have a bit more energy to see some more of Munich tomorrow; it’s a really nice city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
